Shanda & The Howlers

Check out SUBF 2025’s opening band on the Tuacahn Amphitheater stage! We reserve this time slot for a regional favorite, and if you don’t know them already, Shanda & The Howlers are sure to be yours! A Rhythm & Blues revivalist band out of Las Vegas, NV, the group solidified their lineup in early 2015 and began writing songs immediately. Influences in their sound can be traced to such artists as Big Maybelle, Ruth Brown, Otis Redding, The Crystals, and other RnB greats. Over the years, they have played on bills with such legendary acts as Squirrel Nut Zippers, Reverend Horton Heat, Save Ferris, The Blasters, and Wanda Jackson. They perform at numerous festivals throughout the Southwest, including the massive Viva Las Vegas Rockabilly Weekend in Las Vegas, NV, and have also toured in Europe. Their debut album, Trouble, came out in 2017, and their second full-length, Hurt for Me, was released on WILD Records in 2018. We’re excited to have Shanda’s powerhouse voice and the band’s ruckus rockabilly sound kick off the Southern Utah Blues Festival on Saturday, November 8th at high noon!
